5 Movies To Watch On Father's Day

Since my dad isn't much of a festive fellow, I've decided to whip up a short list of films about fathers, both good and bad in honor of Father's Day. Just in case your dad isn't into celebrating and going out for dinner, you can have a list of films to stay in and watch. Eraserhead (Dir: David Lynch) From the mind of my filmmaker father David Lynch, his first feature length film is set in a industrial glum city in which our main character Henry Spencer learns he is a father, and undergoes deep hallucinations which play around Spencer's head while caring for a mostly deformed child. Now, majority of the time we don't know what David Lynch's films are about. It's said that this film was based around Lynch's thoughts on fatherhood. The fear of parenting, which brings great dread to me on just the thought alone. But, Lynch is also known to make his films open to interpretations depending on the viewer, so you can never really pin point w...

7 TV Intros With Cool Songs

How often do you encounter a TV show with an intro song that makes you look it up on Spotify immediately. Or maybe a powerful intro that makes you feel like you're soul belongs to that show? Sure, the intro to Game of Thrones is good, but after 6 seasons, it pretty much got overdone. (Yes, I skip the intro, fight me.) 7. You're The Worst Song:    7:30am by Slothrust Season: One and Two Where can I watch this? This is an FX Show, so obviously FXNow, or catch the first season on HuluPlus. This show is magnificent in it's depiction of modern day "dating". The characters are enchanting and relatable in the most despicable way. It will make you feel things you don't want to feel, but still make you laugh tremendously in the process. And that Freaks and Geeks intro vibe? SWEET. 6. The Sopranos Song:   Woke Up This Morning by Alabama 3 Season: One through six Where can I watch this?  HBOGo, HBONow This is the song you sh...

10 Things I learned from watching RuPaul's Drag Race

As some of you may know, I am deeply obsessed with RuPaul's Drag Race. With Season 8 and the 100th episode airing today, I've decided to express my emotions through a FABULOUS AND SICKENING LIST! Here is what this show has done for me. 10. Believe in Your Craft; WORK IT OUT! Sometimes, we wish we could pull off things we don't think we are good at. But hey, no one has to know what a wreck you are. COMMIT TO YOUR LOOK. Commit to your talent, and commit to yourself. Once you do, no one can come for you baby. You've got this in the bag. Unless you cause a total car crash and piss off Mama Ru. 9. You're more than just a pretty face Although to be a successful drag queen one must master the art of giving GOOD FACE, Mama Ru has taught me that it takes more than just FACE to be a drag superstar. While looking for Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent, you have to remember that even though you may not be good at something, if you apply the Force of th...

Shows to Cuddle and Binge During Winter Break

For all you lucky ones that get to stay in when the weather is perfect for hot chocolate and your San Marcos. For all of those who already binged Narcos, OITNB, and Game Of Thrones is getting on your last nerve. For all of those that know movies are not enough to feed your hunger of relentless binging. I give you a list of unorganized genres of shows that you can make your way into. You're welcome god damn it. The Leftovers (HBO) Where Can I Watch This? HBOGo , HBONow,  or you know, you'll find a way for your HBO shows. Why Should I Watch This?  I was really hesitant on this show since season one first started. When you hear the word "rapture" you immediately try to link it to the bible, and some of us are just not interested in anything related to religion. Surprisingly, this show isn't Christian at all. In fact, it could use a little Jesus to save them. On a typical day (October the 14th to be exact) people just disappear out of thin air and no on...

30 Days of Idanya: Day 1

Since I've been wanting to do some of these challenges, I finally found myself on day one of a month. Since the month of November is composed of 30 days, I am gonna take advantage to talk about things I love the most through a series of questions. Because I obviously can't come up with topics myself. Get to know me better! I'm pretty awesome. Challenges I will be doing: RuPaul's Drag Race Films Songs TV Shows RuPaul's Day 1 - Most Loved Queen Katya Zamolodchikova This is no surprise to most -  Екатерина Петровна Замолодчикова,  but you can call her KATYA. Real name is Brian McCook, which is not Russian at all, yet very Boston-y. To be completely honest, the first time I saw her on the promo for season 7, I was so over her. What a fucking weirdo! Yet when she made her entrance in her Russian get up, talking about stuff that doesn't make sense, I was alright with her. Then when Snatch Game came up, she opened up on TV. Her depression, her su...

10 Movies With Awesome Soundtracks

Soundtracks can make a movie twice as better than they actually are, or complete it. Some movies on the other hand may have a good compilation of songs, but still suck! I've decided to make a list of at least ten of my favorite movies that made it WORK. It was just going to be 7, but I'm a movie vagabunda. Sweeties, darlings, get your Spotify playlist ready! 10. Boyhood (2014) Yellow by Coldplay The scene where Mason is staring at the sky at the beginning while Yellow is playing is one of the most resonating parts from this movie. It really is a strong start, but if you ask me if I like this movie in general, I'll give you a straight up hell no. Some for personal reasons, but mostly because it flat lined so hard after he grew up to be a typical teenage hipster in Texas. Linklater may be a favorite for most movie buffs. To me, nothing gets better than Dazed and Confused . Just like Natural Born Killers and Oliver Stone, but that's just me sliding off topic....

Movie Talk: The Five Movies for Grieving After You've Been Dumped

So you just got dumped by the person you loved. They didn't want to put up with you anymore because you're too much for the normies. You're beaten down and broken. Your friends try to cheer you up and it helps until they go on about themselves and forget you even exist. You just want to lay in bed and drown your heart  with dark chocolate and diet cherry coke, trying to make sense out of life, and thinking you should just marry your mattress instead. Then your friends wanna give you all of these ridiculous Rom Com recommendations which work for your typical girl night. You go from He's Just Not That Into You, to  Some Kind Of Wonderful and it just leaves you more hurt and confused than before. Am I Watts or Amanda? Is Jake Ryan even real life? Rom Coms are only fun when you have someone in your life, but since it's the other way around you know you must go through the five stages of grief that come with heartbreak. And so I give you a reality check. You're welc...
